2011: Northeast Cooling’s Year in Review

It’s been an exciting year for Northeast Cooling! There have been so many exciting events for us in 2011 that we’d like to highlight a few.

The year started off with a bang when when Mitch received stellar reviews from GIST regarding his use of Social Media to promote his Commercial Refrigeration business.  Mitch was lauded for his use of  Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook to better service his customers, and bring in new ones.

In March Northeast Cooling sponsored its very first GameNight in Northbrook at Pinstripes. Bowling, bocce, and beverages certainly were a big hit. We can’t wait to visit them again!

We helped sponsor the documentary about Twitter, Twittamentary by Singaporean film-maker, Siok Siok (@sioksiok) in April. Twittamentary examines how people interact and are effected daily on Twitter. Morningstar in Chicago provided the venue, @Ramon_DeLeon of Domino’s Provided the food, and our own @padschicago was featured in the film.

As Spring warmed into sunny May days and brought us Chicago Craft Beer Week and The National Restaurant Association Show, we were thrilled to partner with The Beer Bistro to host our spectacular Welcome to Summer Industry Night Craft Beer Bash! The Beer Bistro never disappoints!

June brought us another exciting mention by the people at Gist. We were honored and excited to be mentioned once again by the amazing people at Gist!  Check out the guest post by Greg Meyer on SiliconPrairieNews.com: http://www.siliconprairienews.com/2011/06/greg-meyer-of-gist-finding-your-true-fans-in-every-city. If you haven’t used Gist, you’re missing out on a powerful networking and organization tool. Gist provides a complete view of the contacts in your professional network by creating a rich business profile for each one that includes the most news, status updates, and work details.

August was filled with Ice Cream and Gelato sensations! We indulged in cool and creamy bliss at the Chicago Ice Cream and Gelato Festival. There were ice cream Chef Battles, Ice Cream Making demos, and an Artisan Marketplace. Not to mention plenty of mouth-watering ice cream to keep you cool!

August also brought another great review of Northeast Cooling’s use of social media by The Air Conditioning Heating Refrigeration News. We were given nod for the Ahead of the Curve award. “Owner Mitch Byrne is an early adopter of just about every type of social media. Sure, he’s got his bases covered on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. But do you know what Foursquare is? Have you ever heard of Hashable? Or Quora? Byrne has not only heard of social platforms that you may not even be aware exist, he’s already established himself on them.”

As the summer was coming to a close, Northeast Cooling Sponsored Downtown Dash on 9.10.11. Again this year, Northeast Cooling was so proud to work with Leyla Arsan of Lotus Marketing Services and ING DIRECT in sponsoring their event, Downtown Dash! Downtown Dash is an Urban Scavenger Hunt like no other! Teams utilized Foursquare and Twitter to receive clues and complete physical challenges for this urban scavenger hunt. Think “The Amazing Race” only with Chicago providing the entire course! Such an amazing event!

The fall and winter saw many social events and a variety of commercial refrigeration repairs. All in all 2011 was a pretty good year! Northeast Cooling is looking forward to an even more eventful and exciting 2012!
