Last weekend my computer froze up. There was no external backup and I feared all my data was lost. I posted a help request on twitter and the response was amazing! Within minutes I had friends and strangers reaching out to offer a helping hand. One of my twitter pals @djshelly Re tweeted my request for help. This probably helped with the response I received. Le Wang a fellow Chicago tweep (@wangle) also responded and gave me a phone number of a person who could help. His name was Adam Gordon. I called him and he was very helpful over the phone.
Later that day I received a reply on twitter from a fellow Lake County Tweep Heather Acton (@heatheracton78) . This is a local person I have had the pleasure of meeting at #lctu
the local Lake County Tweet Up. Heather offered to fix my computer and restore all my files for free! I gave her my tower and net book and she fixed them in no time flat. She did a superb job. I will be using Heather for all my computer issues and web site updates in the future. All the people mentioned in this blog are from the Chicago area. I would have never met them if they were not active on twitter.
